Ms Kitiibwa is currently the MEFMI Programme Officer in charge of Payment Systems and Monetary Policy Implementation in the Financial Sector Management Programme.
Her responsibilities include identifying technical needs and skills gaps in payment systems and monetary policy implementation within member states and designing, developing and coordinating capacity building interventions that address these needs, both at regional and country level. Ms Kitiibwa is also a member of the MEFMI ICT Committee.
Prior to joining MEFMI, she worked with the Bank of Uganda in the Financial Institutions Supervision Department and Payment Systems Department. Her practical experience includes Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Systems Oversight for both large value and retail payment systems; formulation, development and implementation of payment system policies, standard and technologies. From 2004 to 2006 she was a member of the East African Payment System (EAPS) Harmonisation Committee. She participated in the review and implementation of the EAPS Legal Framework, EAPS Oversight Benchmarks and EAPS technical specifications.
Ms. Kitiibwa holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Financial Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK and a Bachelor of Statistics from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda.
