MEFMI will soon be launching a pilot project in the Treasury of Kenya on a revolutionary web-based public debt reporting tool, Debt Reporting Dashboard. The project is expected to become operational in the second half of 2015. The main objective of the project is to enhance the public debt reporting function of Debt Management Offices, and support analytical work that informs policy formulation while keeping stakeholders abreast of debt developments.
The Dashboard, to be interfaced with other computer based debt management systems such as CS-DRMS and DMFAS, is expected to greatly streamline and enhance the reporting functions of debt offices, allowing them to produce quick web-based debt statistical bulletins and reports with minimal effort and maximum impact. The Dashboard is resource efficient in terms of manpower requirements. Once operational the tool will facilitate generation of relevant tables and charts for regular debt reports including publication of Public Debt Statistical Bulletins.
The success in the pilot installation and operation of the tool in Kenya will pave way for wider training and roll out to other MEFMI countries towards the end of 2015.
