The MEFMI region has been urged to define its own space in the global economy in order to remain relevant. This was said by the Zimbabwe Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Honourable Patrick Chinamasa, during the official opening of the 2016 Combined Forum. The event was held in Washington DC, United States of America on 4 October 2016. It was attended by Ministers of Finance and of Economic Planning, Central Bank Governors and Finance/Treasury Secretaries from the Institute’s 14 member countries.
The purpose of the Forum is to provide a platform for high level officials and policy makers to discuss and keep abreast with the current and emerging trends in macroeconomic and financial management. General Electric (GE) is the financial partner for this year’s event.
