PRESS STATEMENT – NEW OFFICE BEARERS – BOARD OF GOVERNORS

MEFMI held its 22nd Board of Governors Meeting on 9 October 2018, which was attended by 13 member countries.

RwangombaOne of the major resolutions from the meeting was the appointment of the Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda, Mr. John Rwangombwa to succeed the Governor of the Bank of Botswana, Mr. Moses Pelaelo as the Chairman of the MEFMI Board of Governors with effect from 1 January 2019 when Governor Pelaelo’s term of office as Chairman ends.

The Governor of the Bank of Tanzania Prof. Florens Luoga was appointed the Vice-Chairman of the Board and he will also be the Chairman of the MEFMI Prof.LorensExecutive Committee (EXCOM. This is effective January 1, 2019. These changes are in line with the MEFMI constitution.
