DESCRIPTION:BACKGROUND\nAttaining financial stability remains a primary objective for central banks in the MEFMI region. Because\nfinancial stability is supported by sound, stable, and resilient banks, bank supervisors and financial stability\ndepartments in MEFMI member countries must put in place robust frameworks to manage risks and\nresolve crisis in the financial sector effectively.\nThe Joint MEFMI/FSI Policy Implementation Meeting is an annual platform for senior officials in the relevant\ndepartments of central banks to deliberate and exchange ideas on how to address current issues in their\nrespective jurisdictions. Each year, the seminar is held under a theme that captures one of the most pressing\ncross-cutting issues affecting the region. The theme for the 2024 seminar will be communicated to the\nmember countries in due course.\nOBJECTIVES\nThis seminar aims to:\n1. Discuss topical issues affecting banking supervision and financial stability in MEFMI member countries;\nand\n2. Provide a platform for senior officials to exchange ideas on bank supervision and financial stability in the\nMEFMI region.\nTARGET GROUP\nThis seminar targets Deputy Governors and Directors in charge of Bank Supervision and Financial Stability\nas well as other senior officials in Bank Supervision.\n
