Programme Officer in the Debt Management Programme
Mr. Tiviniton Makuve is currently a MEFMI Programme Officer in the Debt Management Programme, responsible for Databases, Statistics and UNCTAD DMFAS. He joined the Institute in March 2014.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe and he is a MEFMI Graduate Fellow in Debt Management. Mr Makuve is on secondment from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), where he worked as a Senior Analyst in the Money and Capital Markets Department, responsible for overseeing the management of domestic debt database and designing policies to promote development of domestic debt markets. He also held various positions in public institutions including working as an Investment Analyst at the National Investment Trust, now the National Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Board.
He was also a lecturer in the Department of Banking at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). Between 2006 and 2008, he was a member of the Domestic Debt Coordinating Committee, responsible for forecasting weekly government cash flows and designing debt instruments.
In 2012 and 2013, he was a member of the newly constituted Zimbabwe Treasury Bill Issuance Committee. In 2010 Mr Makuve contributed a chapter in a study commissioned by the Business Council of Zimbabwe. He is a member of the MEFMI Editorial Committee.
