MEFMI Heads of Debt Management Forum

BACKGROUND

The MEFMI Heads of Debt Management Forum is an annual event that brings together all the heads of the Debt Management Offices (DMOs), within MEFMI client institutions to discuss various emerging issues in debt management. It provides a platform to raise awareness on new tools and systems to facilitate the effective operation of DMOs. Further, the Forum allows the senior officials to share experiences on the various challenges confronting sovereign debt managers. It also provides a platform for MEFMI to engage with heads of DMOs and discuss their capacity building needs whilst also increasing the visibility of the Institute.

OBJECTIVES

This forum aims to:

1. Raise awareness on emerging issues in public debt management; and

2. Provide a platform for peer-to-peer learning.

TARGET GROUP

The Forum targets the heads of departments undertaking public debt management functions in the Ministries of Finance, Planning and or Economic Development as well as Central Banks.
