Seminar on Current Issues in Supervision for Non-Bank Supervisors

BACKGROUND
The seminar for non-bank financial sector supervisors will discuss some of the latest developments in
the supervision and regulation of the insurance companies, pensions, capital markets and other non-bank
financial institutions. The primary focus of the seminar will be on cross-cutting issues such as climate and
biodiversity loss risks, cyber risks and supervision of virtual assets.
The seminar will include presentations on the different topics and roundtable discussions. As such, it will
offer an opportunity for senior non-bank supervisors in the region to compare notes and brainstorm on
ways in which they may respond to current challenges in their respective jurisdictions.

OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the seminar is to provide a platform for senior officials to discuss and exchange ideas
on the current issues and latest developments in the sectors they supervise.

TARGET GROUP
The seminar is targeted at directors, deputy directors and senior managers responsible for the supervision
of capital markets, insurance companies, pension funds, and microfinance institutions in MEFMI member
countries.
