Workshop on Introduction to Data Requirements for Macroeconomic Analysis: Advanced Excel Features

BACKGROUND

Microsoft Excel is used by businesses, organisations, and individuals to store and analyse data, create charts and graphs, and perform some mathematical calculations. Excel is also used for a variety of tasks, such as budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis, among others. Microsoft offers a variety of features and tools to help users get the most out of their data. With high levels of staff turnover and new entrants in MEFMI client institutions, it has emerged that some officials are not conversant with the Excel features which can enable them to do their work more efficiently.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this training workshop is to help participants to achieve proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially how to use the Excel spreadsheet for data analysis and database purposes.

CONTENT

This course covers topics such as creating and managing worksheets, using formulas and functions, and creating charts and graphs.

TARGET GROUP

This course targets junior to mid-level officials from ministries of finance, statistical offices, and central banks who are responsible for the compilation and analysis of the four (4) macroeconomic statistics.
