Dr Fundanga bemoaned the very low number of Fellows from some MEFMI member countries. He stated that the absence of Candidate Fellows from the workshop host country, Swaziland, should be addressed. The call will be sent out by 30th November 2016.
In his official opening address the Permanent Secretary in the Swaziland Ministry of Economic Planning and Development stated that the Fellows Development Programme should be viewed by all MEFMI member countries as an important skills development programme for the region. He said that the programme should be viewed as a unique opportunity for the region to nurture its own crop of experts in various fields of specialisation, and equip them with soft skills to enable the region to have effective consultants and facilitators.
The participatory and practical oriented workshop will focus on empowering participants with skills on how to manage learning processes through hands on, audio, visual and explorative learning activities. These will relate to aspects of facilitation and consultancy skills.
