MEFMI Builds Capacity in People Management, Coaching and Mentoring

 

Through the Business Development Unit, MEFMI conducted a virtual workshop on People Management, Coaching and Mentoring from 27 June to 1 July 2022. The workshop aimed at imparting practical knowledge on how to manage, coach and mentor people within an organisation. Based on the feedback from the post event evaluation, the training enhanced the participants’ understanding of how to deal with employees at the workplace so that strategic goals and objectives are achieved by creating a conducive work environment.

 

The workshop covered the following topics: an overview of people management, key functional components of human resources (HR), employee benefits/compensation, employee and labour relations, HR compliance, organisational structure, HR information systems, employee training and development, and coaching and mentoring employees in a workplace.

 

A total of 27 participants drawn from different levels of management and different sections in Central Banks and Ministries of Finance attended the workshop.  The workshop was facilitated by Messrs Memory Nguwi and Mike Cerff, both independent experts from Zimbabwe and South Africa, respectively.

 

MEFMI expects participants trained in the workshop to contribute more effectively to people management, coaching and mentoring in their respective organisations. MEFMI stands ready to deliver more training on HR topics to practitioners and other participants responsible for managing employees.
