BACKGROUND

As part of efforts to raise awareness on emerging issues in public debt management and providing a platform for countries to deliberate on challenges they are faced with, MEFMI will continue to host webinars in 2024. The webinars will focus on topical issues in public debt management and will draw insights from experts both within the region and internationally. Specific topics for the webinars will be announced as developments evolve.

OBJECTIVES

These webinars aim to:

1. Increase awareness on topical issues, developments, and opportunities that are key enablers for the attainment of best practices in sovereign debt management.

2. Provide a platform for sharing countries’ experiences amongst debt management practitioners in the region.

TARGET GROUP

The webinars will target debt management practitioners in the central banks and ministries of finance and planning. Other government departments may also be invited, depending on the topic of discussion and these may include macroeconomists, managers of government cash, auditors, legal practitioners etc.
