Background
MEFMI supports the implementation of international standards in national accounting which provide the methodological basis for improving the international comparability of national accounts data of member countries. The conceptual change over from the 2008 System of National Accounts (SNA) to the 2025 SNA is aimed to improve the scope, detail and quality of the national accounts and support economic statistics. It is on this basis that during Phase VI (2022-2026), MEFMI recommends that its member countries adopt the latest international compilation standards and encourage all countries to compile and report their national accounts on the basis of the 2025 SNA. As part of this effort, MEFMI will conduct an e-Learning course on introduction to real sector statistics compilation and reporting from 10-28 July 2026.
